Furphy Museum
The Furphy Museum was officially opened by The Deputy Premier of Victoria, the Hon Mr Peter Ryan as part of our 150th anniversary celebrations in 2014. The museum is located within the Museum of Vehicle Evolution (MOVE) at the Emerald Bank complex on the southern approach to Shepparton and displays an extensive collection of historical items from the companies’ unique and famous history.
Included in the collection are an extensive collection of Furphy Water Carts and ends as well as photographs, machinery and tools from yesteryear.
Also – new in December 2021 – the Big Furphy Water Cart. A 2.3 times replica of the original horse-drawn version, the Big Furphy Water Cart stands proudly at the entrance to MOVE and the FurphyMuseum. Make sure you grab a photo as a reminder of your trip to Shepparton and MOVE!
Entry to the Furphy Museum is included in the entry to the Museum of Vehicle Evolution (MOVE) which also comprises a number of amazing collections ranging from classic, vintage and veteran cars, bicycles and motorbikes, clothing, accessories and furniture. It is well worth more than one visit! MOVE is open from 10:00am – 4:00pm 7 days a week.
Relax and have lunch or a coffee at The Milestone Cafe after a good look through the collection Open 8am – 3pm 7 days a week and situated adjoining the Furphy Museum.
